Mike, Paige, and Jacob Dillistin

Student-with-Family Fossil Expeditions. (Time 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.)

We will provide teacher or school representative with a letter they can copy to send home to parents. The letter will explain that their children and everyone else in their family can receive the student rate of $35 (instead of the public child's rate of $50 and adult rate of $75) -- if they have at least 10 in their party. This educational rate will be for our walk-in trip. Students are allowed to bring friends at the same rate of $35, as long as there are at least 10 in the group. The trip is good for any day in which we already have a walk-in trip scheduled.

Classroom presentation

Although I enjoy them, I am unable to schedule presentations because schools can only book them during the day – which is when I am usually in the field fossil collecting. But I am happy to provide teachers with a slide presentation of a typical Peace River fossil expedition – at no charge. Just drop me an e-mail at mark@fossilexpeditions.com. I'll send the compressed JPEG slides in two e-mails along with a script that tells you what each slide contains.

Novel for School-Wide reading or Anti-bullying Campaign

D.S. Parrott Middle School in Brooksville obtained 900 copies of “Doug's Ark: Thinking Outside The Pile” to kick off their school-wide reading program and anti-bullying campaign. As an illustrated paperback book, the public pays $14.95 per copy. But for schools, we sell them for what they cost us, which is about $2 per book, plus shipping. If your school has no budget, we will provide you with a free PDF of the book so that you can download it and make it available to students on home computers or smaller readers. This free PDF offer is not good for our other books.
